e-pitching of innovative solutions to support European public & private procurers against COVID19

Dear Procurers across Europe,

I am pleased to send you an invitation to the "e-pitching of innovative solutions to support European public & private procurers against COVID19” the European Innovation Council (European Commission) is organising on 30 April https://bit.ly/2UPgEpO

Objective

The intention is to connect public and private procurers from the health sector with EIC-funded companies developing innovative medical supply (e.g. personal protective garments, medication, test kits, respiratory machinery…) and innovative technologies (e.g. tele-medicine, remote solutions, artificial intelligence for data analysis and prediction, supply chain management, logistics…) as a solution to COVID-19.

If it sounds interesting to you or to your colleagues, send directly me an email to bertrand.wert@ec.europa.eu to register, and to file-in the attached list of needs/challenges/problems of procurers facing COVID. It will help us inviting from 10.04 to 20.04 the right companies members of our programme EIC to pitch on 30.04 (you can have a look to our database https://sme.easme-web.eu)

Process

With this list of needs/challenges/problems of procurers facing COVID, it will help us inviting from 10.04 to 20.04 the right companies members of our programme EIC (you can have a look to our database https://sme.easme-web.eu)

Then once we have this list of interested innovative companies, we will get back to you on 20.04 in order for you to choose the companies you want to see ePitching on 30 April.

Our companies are working on “solutions of the future” not on EXISTING SOLUTIONS

A very important element has to be specified: during this ePitching our very innovative EIC companies will most probably not be able to meet the immediate needs of all (world) hospitals. To be precise: already existing solutions on the market like: 1/ protective equipment (PPE, gels…) 2/ breathing machines 3/ sedation drugs – Also, because as you unfortunately know, production and imports supply chains of these goods are already totally overloaded and not responsive.

We are mentioning this in purpose, in order not to create false expectations. BUT be sure that our EIC companies are already working or will work on innovative solutions, solutions of the future in these families of products, and on many others too that are also necessary to fight COVID19.

Next steps

In any case, we will get back to you after 20.04 to present you the list of EIC companies willing to ePicth for you to choose. Then other emails will follow with all technical/logistical details previous to 30 April.

Also please note that it is possible, if practitioners' time is short, to present the challenges/problems related to COVID19 by video - ideally in a short format of 2 minutes maximum, selfie mode video with a personal cell phone is a good way – and then sending them to me via email, WeTransfer or WhatsApp 0032 485 37 4818 -, explaining the challenges/problems related to COVID19 that they encounter on a daily basis, but also ideally in more the longer term – 6 months to 2 years -.
